Little rounds of faces (rice), samosa, sausage, stewed chicken, omelette, spinach, marble cake. Didn't put the strawberries in as the kids were too hungry and was hurrying me to quickly take the photo.

Bento #32 and #33
Bento #32: Breakfast last Saturday - ham sandwiches, grapes, butter cookies. Love the butter cookies, it is a no-brand type which brings back fond memories when I was a kid....from those market stalls selling biscuits/cookies by weight.
Bento #33: This was a "bento" done by Bubbles, who is only 5 yrs old. I think she has some talent in this! This is actually porridge, served with a simple omelette in the shape of a heart, with peas and fishcake slices. *sorry, don't know why the photo orientation cannot be right, tried a few times!

Bento #29
Usually I have to separate the sauce from the pasta, as Buttercup is really particular. She prefers her pasta free of sauce. Depends on her mood whether she will put any topping on her pasta at all.
Bento #28
Tonight's dinner for the gals. Bubbles did the deco. Looks like a clown to me.
Chicken, mushroom and peas in their fav cheesy sauce (just a simple sauce of milk plus cheese slices melted). White rice with pork floss. Added a almond jelly and apple slices to complete the meal. The marshmellow was an encouragement sweet.
Bubbles polished everything off her plate tonight. Perhaps it is the sense of pride of her work.

Bento #27
Frankly, have not been doing much baking and bentoing recently. Too many things to keep me busy. Strangely, at times there is this feeling of guilt for not updating my blog.
This is the recent dinner for my gals. Heart-shaped riceballs with stirfried cauliflower and carrots, 2 "dinosaur" chicken nuggets, minced meat omelette, stewed potatoes with meat and peas. Dessert was two-coloured grapes plus yoghurt.
The plate was bought from Daiso (went shopping again!) , a steal at S$2. :)

Bentos #14, #15, #16
Bento #14: Star onigiri topped with animal biscuit, served with seafood rolls and steamed minced pork with egg and stir-fried pak choy. Fruit: apples.
The seafood rolls were store bought and it looked nice when sliced - it had seaweed, green onions and imitation crabstick. Steamed minced pork is always a favourite for the gals, as the pork juices just go so well with the steam eggs.

Bento #15: Heart-shaped rice with braised chicken drumstick for Blossom. Oven toasted ngoh hiang and stir-fried spinach. On the right is a nest of quail eggs and "chicks". Fruit: extra sweet strawberry.
Finally had some time on my hands to experiment making the quail egg chicks. Sesame seed for the eyes and strawberry/tomato for the beaks. Next time should use carrot for the beaks as I think that may look better.
Bento #16: This is the "monster" bento. Spinach hair and char siew eyes and roast pork for the grin. Dessert was papaya cubes.

Bento #10
Blossom loves those wafer roses that come with dishes at some Chinese restarants. When we went to Sheng Siong supermarket, she saw it and requested for some to go with her bento.

Bento #9
Fried ngoh hiang, honey roasted chicken (stir-fried with white mushrooms and peas*) served with mandarin oranges and apple "ice-cream cones".
*My Bubbles will only have peas as her form of vege. I am at my wits end. I have bought a packet of frozen edamame, hopefully it becomes an alternative source...

Bento #8 - with new bento box
Bentomania catching up! Saw this lovely My Melody 2-tiered bento box on Sunday and could not resist adding it to my kitchen. The 2 tiers have separate lids to keep the food from spilling out and the box comes with a spoon. So much thought went into the design of this box.
Here's what I filled the box today - for my lunch later. Bottom tier: fried rice with scrambled eggs, stir-fried broccoli, roast chicken which was a leftover for last night's dinner. Top tier: Sliced cucumbers with mayo (in monkey mayo case), mandarin oranges plus a choco for dessert (or as a reward to myself? hehehe)
Do you think this would be too much for lunch? I have a feeling it would be...
